A rectangular black and white, silver gelatin glass plate negative in landscape format showing the Darling River in drought. The image shows a river bank and sparse bushland along the top of the river bank. Accompanying the negative is its original storage envelope. The negative was stored in the envelope with another negative (P3548-807).

Written in ink on the envelope and crossed out in red pencil 'Positive / Moon May 28th 1891 / Very thin'. Written in red pencil 'The Darling near Bourke / in a drought / 1884-5'.
