A rectangular black and white, silver gelatin glass plate negative in landscape format showing two observation buildings. One has a domed roof and canvas exterior while the other larger observation building has a peaked roof and wooden exterior. Three men can be seen standing and two are seated around the larger observation building. The canvas sides of the domed building are open showing a telescope set up inside the dome. Two large telescopes and a smaller telescope are set up on the grass outside the two buildings. There is a wooden slat fence behind the buildings and a wire fence can be seen in the foreground. Paper has been glued onto one side of the image. The paper has been cut to follow skyline in the photograph.
