Airmail envelope, Singapore-Sydney, 'BOAC Comet 4 Jetliner / First flight between London and Sydney', paper, made by BOAC, London, England, 1959
Philatelic cover commemorating the first flight between London and Sydney, with a Singapore Malaya stamp in the upper right corner. The design on the left side of the envelope shows St Pauls Cathedral and the Sydney Harbour Bridge with a globe of the world between. The stamp was used between 1955 and 1959, 50c, blue and black, and depicts the liner 'Chusen II', P 13 1/2 x 14 1/2. The envelope is addressed to the 'General Manager, Qantas Empire Airways Ltd. Qantas House, 70 Hunter Street, Sysney, Australia'. On the back of the envelope is a postrmark from Sydney, dated 3 Novermber 1959.
