Airmail envelope, Bangkok-Darwin, 'BOAC Comet 4 Jetliner / First flight between London and Sydney', paper, made by BOAC, London, England, 1959
Philatelic cover commemorating the first flight between London and Sydney, with Thai stamps. The design on the left side of the envelope shows St Pauls Cathedral and the Sydney Harbour Bridge with a globe of the world between. The stamps commemorate the first SEAP (Southeast Asian Peninsular) Games and depict Thai culture and architecture. The postmarks on the front of the envelope are from Bangkok and dated 2 November 1959. The envelope is addressed to Qantas Empire Airways in Darwin. On the back of the envelope is a postrmark from Darwin, dated 3 Novermber 1959.
