The Lincoln Memorial Cent featuring the Lincoln Memorial on the coin's reverse was issued in 1959 to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's birth and replaced the original wheat design on the coin known as the 'Lincoln Cent', first minted in 1909.
