Milk jug (part of tea set), porcelain, maker unknown, Japan. 1850-1886

Fine porcelain jug, white ground with gloss finish. Body features hand painted scene of marine life below river bed, flock of birds flying overhead, village in background. Rims and handle decorated with gold ornamentation on iron-red.
