Philatelic cover, Cosmonaut Pavel Popovich, paper, issued in the USSR, 1962
The envelope and stamps were issued in the USSR in 1962.
Pavel Popovich (1930Â?2009) was a Soviet cosmonaut of Ukrainian descent, and the first ethnic Ukrainian to fly in space. He flew on the Vostok 4 and Soyuz 14 missions.

Envelope with black and white image of cosmonaut Pavel Popovich on the left side. He is wearing a military uniform. There is Russian text underneath. In the upper right corner is a Russian stamp depicting Popovich and commemorating the Vostok 4 mission. There is a red ink postmark that contains two spacecraft flying above a globe and the Russian hammer and sickle. There is a signature above in blue pen.
