Part of botanical model (pea pod with peas), 'Pois de senteur complet' (Sweet Pea), mixed media, made by Dr Auzoux, Paris, France, 1883

A model of a pea pod containing peas. The green body of the pod consists of two halves that are joined together by two hinges. The pod opens to reveal four peas. One pea, which is loose from the pod, opens out to show the structure of the pea.

Paper labels describing the internal structures of the grain are adhered to the models surface.
