This particular set features cups with painted interiors in green, grey, pink, yellow, orange and blue, reflecting those colours that feature on the oversized saucers. Little information about the Westminster company in Merlbourne is currently available.

Ian Neil Whalland (1963-1996) acquired these teacups and saucers for his collection of twentieth-century decorative art objects. He lived in Sydney, and developed his collection during the 1980s and 1990s.

Six teacup and saucer sets made in fine china each individually coloured with either pink, blue, green, grey, yellow or orange. The teacups rise from a low, circular base into a shallow rounded body with a c-shaped handle. The cup interiors are coloured individually while the handles, lips and foot rings are decorated with gold paint. The saucers have four irregular edges that rise slightly into rounded corners. A cup support is moulded in one corner, while a quadrilateral design is painted in the opposite corner in one of six colours. Gold paint surrounds the saucer rim and the quadrilateral design. The cups and saucers are matched by the colours of their painted details. Makers mark applied to the bases of cups and saucers in gold paint.
