This poster was used to promote the NSW Aboriginal Land Council elections in November 1991. The poster has historical significance in recognising and promoting the voting rights of Indigenous people. In 1967 Indigenous people were given the right to become citizens of this country and in turn the right to vote in government elections. Since the Aboriginal Land Councils were established Indigenous people can vote for other Indigenous people to represent them and their community in the fight for land rights.
