Needlework sample, skirt, cotton, made for the Sydney International Exhibition 1879, maker unknown, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, 1879

Miniature skirt in coarse white cotton with waistband that ties with tapes at the back.Towards the hem are horizontal pintucks, a broderie anglaise insertion bordered by herringbone stitch, and a van dyke edged broderie frill at the hem.
