Lawrence Hargrave (1850-1915) spent his childhood in this district, 1850-1865.

Printed on lower centre of postcard '56066. The 11th Century Church, Keston.' Handwritten in ink on reverse 'No doubt this was the / Church they attended / the local parish church / exacatly one mile from / these cottages / note by Mrs Goymer'. Then in another hand '600 or 700 years old. Lawrence Hargrave / would probably go there'.
