The photo is undated, but according to Sandie Barrie. Australians behind the camera: directory of early Australian photographers 1841 to 1945. Booval, Queensland, Sandie Barrie, 2002, Riisfeldt's photographic studio, 492 and 496 George Street, Sydney was at this address between 1883 and 1888. Hilda Hargrave was on born 16 June 1883.

Hilda Hargrave, born 16 June 1883, was the second daughter of Lawrence Hargrave and his wife Margaret Preston née Johnston. She married Harold Waller.
