Teacup and saucer, porcelain, maker unknown, China, c. 1770
Cup: A small, grey-blue porcelain cup with wavy edge and fluted flared body. Rising from straight foot and with a large loop handle. Handpainted with floral motifs and small insects in pink, green and purple enamels. Gilded and red link pattern border. Interior painted with a rope- style pattern within a black lined green border.
Saucer: A small grey-blue porcelain saucer with fluted sides. The well handpainted in pink, green and purple enamel, with a floral motif surrounded by a gilt and red link pattern. Rim enamelled with small floral sprigs and rope pattern within a black lined green border.
Marks
Cup: Blue square worcester-copy.
Saucer: lump of molten wax on base.
