Commemorative medal, H.B.M.S 'Adventure' and 'Beagle', copper alloy, Great Britain, 1827

Medal to commemorate the voyage of H.B.M.S 'Adventure' and 'Beagle' to survey the Straits of Magellan, 1826-8. On the obverse is a figure in the centre, surrounded by a laurel wreath around the edge of the medal. At the top is a crown. On the reverse of the medal, 'H.B.M.S ADVENTURE AND BEAGLE 1827' is inscribed around the edge, and 'GEORGE IV' is inscribed in the centre.
