Commemorative spoon, Royal visit, silver electroplate/enamel, England,1954
Souvenir teaspoon commemorating the Royal vist to Australia, 1954. Plain bowl with simple palmettes supporting a stem which is a simplified imitation of a column with acanthus capital. The stem is surmounted by a gold medallion with twin profiles of Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh surrounded by the words "Royal Visit", on a field of red enamel."1953/4" on a field of blue enamel. The two cartouches being divided on either side by small triangles of white enamel.
