Long case clock, with lapis-blue Japanned case, wood / metal, made by John Dewe, London, England, 1733-1764

Longcase clock with a lapis-blue Japanned wooden case decorated with a Japanese temple scene. The face of the clock bears roman numerals and a figure of 'Father Time' cut in the brass above the dial. The figure is encircled by a latin inscription 'Sic Transit - Gloria Mundi'.
