Wedding veil, Brussels bobbin made lace / net, probably cotton, maker and place unknown, c. 1860

A wedding veil, embroidered net lace, probably cotton. Rectangular in length, veil consists of a scalloped edge with an elaborate embroidered design featuring another scallop embroidered border and flowers on vines with leaves. Inside of border there is a sprigged flower design. Lace veil is made using a net ground and embroidery, chain stitch is used extensively in the design. Lace is probably made of cotton.
