H6589 Blunderbuss, percussion, [Arabic], 1780-1800.(OF). Cap-firing Blunderbus pistol, 18 1/2" overall. Steel barrel with evidence of damascening, & carrying a circular mark. Stock & butt heavily carved. Butt in form of shoulder butt carries head of stag.

Blunderbuss, percussion, [Arabic], 1780-1800.(OF). Cap-firing Blunderbus pistol, 18 1/2" overall. Steel barrel with evidence of damascening, & carrying a circular mark. Stock & butt heavily carved. Butt in form of shoulder butt carries head of stag. Brass mounts. Originally a flintlock converted to percussion. Pistol presented to donor in 1942 by Shiek Louis Hobeiche of Mameltein near Jounieh, Lebanon. Had been in the possession of Sheik's family for many years.(LC).
