Telephone, manual, plastic / metal / cotton / rubber, maker unknown, 1938 - 1948
Ivory coloured plastic telephone. Telephone has no dial, but a plastic circular disc in place of the dial with instructions for calling the exchange. Telephone has a metal base with four black rubber feet. There is a drawer at the front at the bottom. Cream coloured cotton plaited cord attaches the receiver to the telephone.

Printed in black on front of telephone, within a circular disc, 'TO CALL EXCHANGE / LIFT TELEPHONE / & / LISTEN / REPLACE / TELEPHONE / ONLY WHEN FINISHED'
Stamped on the inside of the handle of the receiver, enclosed in an oval, 'S-38 / G.P.O.----No 164 / 234'
On base printed in gold in gold coloured enclosed border 'P.M.G. - 38.'
Paper sticker adhered to base, '332CB'
