Description
Armchair,'Up 1', polyurethane foam / nylon and wool jersey / wood / hessian / plastic, designed by Gaetano Pesce, Italy, 1969 made by C & B Italia, Italy, about 1969.

'Up 1' armchair of polyurethane foam in a hollowed spherical form covered in red nylon and wool jersey fabric, with a seam to the seat and back junction with a button to each end. The seat, back and arms are formed by the hollow. Circular base with the underside covered in hessian with a black plastic frame. The chair was sold vacuum packed, the foam expanding to its present shape when unsealed.
