Description
Slip on shoe, left straight of pair, leather, maker unknown, England, 1780-1810

Straight left of pair womens slip on shoe for outdoor wear of turnshoe construction, mass produced, with needlepoint toes, slight toe spring and covered wedge heel. Shoe consists of black Morocco leather upper with short vamp, oblique turned side seams and back seams with leather top edge binding. Upper is lined in linen with a linen sock pasted over a leather insole. The heel is inserted above the sole and may have been added later.
