Bath clog, straight one of pair, womens, wood / mother of pearl / silver, maker unknown, Nablus area, Israel / Palestine, late 19th century
Straight one of a pair, womens bath clog constructed with stilts recessed into the sole, pointed toe and flaring stilt heel. Clog consists of wooden sole incurved at the waist with an angular heel breast and a peaked back attached to 3 stilts which flare at the base, no upper attached or holes for attachment of an upper. Insole decorated with a wavy line around the edge, a circle at the toe and lines of triangles in metal and mother of pearl set into the surface of the wood. A similar pattern features on the stilts and underside of the sole.
