Mule shoe, straight one of pair, mens, leather, maker unknown, Nigeria, c1860-1890

Mens tab front mule shoe, straight one of a pair, turned construction featuring tunnel stitching with white thong, pointed shallow toe and no heel. Mule consists of brown leather upper featuring a double crease centre front, vertical side seams, tabbed front with machine stitching each side of the extension, slit each side of tongue with a circle at the toe end, leather bound top edges and folded in tabbed back. Upper features brown leather lining, insole and half sock. Hide sole features hair on the tread and sole protrudes around edge of upper.
