Philatelic cover, Dutch Indies (Indonesia) to Australia, paper, maker unknown, presented to E Crome by Bill Taylor, Dutch Indies / Australia, 1934
The maker of the envelope is unknown.
The cover was presented to E Crome by Bill Taylor. According to Ernie Crome:

'To speed deliveries of the film and photos of the England Australia Cricket Test in England, the Sydney Morning Herald arranged with Capt Taylor to pick up this material in Batavia, and bring it back for a scoop publication ahead of its rivals.'

The cover was flown in a Percival Gull aircraft, VH UVA.

Philatelic cover, Dutch Indies (Indonesia) to Australia, paper, maker unknown, presented to E Crome by Bill Taylor, Dutch Indies / Australia, 1934

Envelope flown between Dutch Indies (Indonesia) and Australia by Captain P G Taylor. The envelope has three stamps, one from the Dutch Indies and two from Australia. The Dutch Indies stamp depicts Queen Wilhelmina of the Netherlands. The Australian stamps depict King George V. There is a postmark from Batavia dated 21 June 1934 and a postmark from Wyndham, West Australia, dated 22 June 1934. There are two postmarks from the Chief Telegraph Office, Sydney, dated 24 June 1934.
