Panel of shot blue/brown silk, embroidered with silk thread in raised and padded satin stitch. Design features shield divided into four by St. George's cross. Each section bears a motif of either animal husbandry, shipping, agriculture or mining. To the left of the shield is an emu standing beneath a white flag bearing the St George cross with a union jack in the top left corner. To the right of the shield is a kangaroo, standing beneath a red Australian ensign. Surmounting the shield is a rising sun in gold thread, and beneath it embroidered in gold thread are the words "Advance Australia". The blue file says that it has been stapled onto cardboard backing with Japanese newspaper on back; however it is mounted and cannot be checked.
