Description
Boots, pair, women's, side lacing, cream kid/leather/cotton, J.A. Davies & Son, London, c. 1840.
Pair of women's handmade, side laced ankle boots of turnshoe construction with round toe and no heel. The boots consist of 3 piece cream kid uppers, with short vamp, seamed at centre back and front, inner tongue and unfinished edges, featuring 10 pairs of eyelets and cotton lacing. The uppers are lined in cotton, the interior of the boots is not visible. The sole of the boots is in leather and reinforced at the inner waist with a strip of dark brown leather.
