Description
Half bustle petticoat, corded cotton, [England], c. 1870

Plain white front with dart pleats at the waistline, triple buttonhole placket at centre front Piped upper edge. Large tuck halfway down the skirt, corded below this point. Deep scalloped hemline with wide border of broderie anglais in buttonhole stitch. The back has a draw tape for fullness. Petticoat is entirely corded. Unmarked. Probably made in England. c. 1870. L. 95cm. Waist 56cm. Condition: complete, slight tear at waist.(SB).
