A6600 English crochet christening cap. c. 1835. White cotton crocheted cap, shaped with circular panel at back with front and sides tapering towards it. The main body consists of rows of three dimensional roses, between double rows of buttonholed eyelets.

Object statement
English crochet christening cap. c. 1835. White cotton crocheted cap, shaped with circular panel at back with front and sides tapering towards it. The main body consists of rows of three dimensional roses, between double rows of buttonholed eyelets. Circular panel edged by scalloped frill consisting of a rose surronded by radiating fan shaped panels between eyelets, whole edged with scallops. Date: c. 1835. Dimensions: H. 19.5cm, L. 29.5cm. Condition: intact.(SB).
