Description
Statue, head of a woman, terracotta, maker unknown, possibly Egypt, 2nd-3rd centuries CE

The face of the woman is turned to the left and gazes upward. The hair is long and swept back at the sides. A projection on top of the head could be a mitra. The front of the head is moulded and the back is crudely shaped and marked with indented scratches. The statue has been broken off at the neck, and the nose has been broken.
