From Saqqara or Memphis. Late period - XXIII Dynasty.

This is part of a large collection of antiquities, including Egyptian faience figures, bronze figurines, scarabs and earthenware objects. They originate from Egypt, Italy, India and the Middle East.

Amulet, Wedjat Eye, faience, Egypt, BCE 817-725

The amulet depicts a Wedjat Eye (Eye of Horus), a symbol of renewal. It is made of light blue faience, with details painted in black and inlaid egg shell (ostrich) used for the white of the eye. There is a suspension hole cut horizontally through.
