Lady's fitted dressing case, wood veneer. 29.9 wide x 22.2 deep x 17.8 cm. high. A typical design of the period with a 'Document Pocket' - a removable trinket tray, which serves as a lid for an interior compartment, & a bottom jewellery drawer. The fittings include: (2,3,4) 3 Trinket boxes; (5,6) 2 large jars; (7,8,9) 3 Perfume bottles; (10) 1 small jar;. (11) 1 lid of missing small jar. All of cut glass with sterling silver tops - London Hallmark 1856-6. Makers mark 'T.W'. Manicure Tray: (12) nail file; (13) button hook; (14) tweezers; (15) spindle; (16) ivory spike; (17) key to case.(LC).
