Description
Oil bottles (3), terracotta, Roman Empire, 3rd century BCE

Three Roman oil or medicine bottles, or ungueantaria, with long slender necks and stems. They have similar designs with a small spreading flat foot and thick everted lip. The necks of two have been painted with brown oxide wash and the third with a black wash.
