Description
Cricket jar with cover, porcelain / metal, maker unknown, Japan, 19th century

The jar is basket-like with latticed upper body and a handle forming an arch over the cover. The design on the lower body extends up either side of the handle, it is made up of figures and dragons on a gold ground. The interior of the jar is cream and the cover is of a lattice design made of metal.
