Description
A large and heavy oblong fish platter in ivory glazed earthenware. The well hand painted with 'salmon trout' among seaweed and two shrimp positioned towards the left. The painter's signature: H Mitchell in sepia is located just below the scene.

It has a matching round plate, museum registration number: A3770

On base: 'Salmon Trout '- handwritten in sepia above a standard factory transfer-printed mark in sepia containing words Doulton, Burslem, under a crown.
