Gaye Blake-Roberts, Curator of the Wedgwood Museum, Barlaston, observed on 12/5/1983 that the plate (A4190) and the two similar ones A3142 and A3143 are all Staffordshire of about 1820. She said that Wedgwood and other makers not only sold the blanks to outside decorators but even sold the enamel paints as well. (note from A4190 blue file)
