Description
Salt shaker, gold scrolls, porcelain, modelled by C J Noke, made by Doulton & Co, Burslem, England, 1891-1893

A mould-made, cylindrical salt shaker, decorated with gold scrolls. The bottom of the shaker is flat, with a central, circular opening for salt refill. An undulating foot ring rises to a cylindrical body, with moulded scrolls at the sides and pierced at the top with small holes and perforations for sprinkling the salt. The salt shaker is painted in pale brown and the scrolls are outlined in gold. The foot ring is edged in gold.
