Description
Saltcellar, spray of flowers, porcelain, modelled by C J Noke, made by Doulton & Co, Burslem, England, 1891-1893

A very small moulded circular saltcellar, decorated with a spray of flowers. A circular disc base rises to sloping sides, a scalloped rim and a band of moulded leaves just below the rim. The floor of the saltcellar is decorated with a spray of different flowers in pink, blue and green. The sides are decorated in clouded gold and the moulded leaves are painted gold. The rim is edged in gold.

Maker's trademark on base, transfer printed in brown, crown surmounting irregular circle shape, with text 'DOULTON / BURSLEM' encircling central motif of four interlinked 'D's. Beneath is text 'ENGLAND'.
