Plate, silver fish, porcelain (bone china) and platinum, made by Roayl Doulton, Burslem, England, 1902-1914
A one-off (probably experimental) bone china plate, decorated with a single silver fish in the centre. A circular foot ring rises to a concave upper face, with a scalloped, fluted rim. The fish is inlaid with impressed platinum, on a cobalt blue background. The rim has been left white.
Made: Doulton & Co (Burslem works); ; 1900 - 1914

Starburst paper label adhered to back, written in black ink 'YX/-'. Circular paper label adhered to base, printed in brown, with the number written in black ink 'ROYAL DOULTON / - / John Slater Collection No...454'.
