Vase, Australian bush scene, porcelain, designed by John Slater, made by Doulton and Co, Burslem, England,
A vase, made from wheel-made, white, fine bone china, with an ovoid body, bearing a decoration of two male figures in an Australian bush setting. A foot ring rises to an ovoid body, with a wide, flaring rim. The body is decorated with a depiction of the back view of an armed bushman on a horse and an aboriginal man holding a spear. The two are paused under a clump of grass trees, amidst a grey eucalyptus forest. The whole scene is painted on pale yellow background. The rim is edged in worn gold.
