Coal box, repoussĀ? steel, Mr Caldwell, Technical Art School, Ballarat, Victoria, Australia, c 1912.
Black painted steel rectangular coal box, encorporating four feet, with hinged lid sloped at an angle at the front. Handle on upper edge of box. Each side features decorative overplating which is rivetted to the box. The central design features a repoussĀ? circular eucalyptus motif on the lid. A repoussĀ? sprig of eucalyptus seed pods is featured on each side of the box.
