Object statement
Shawl, [Indian] muslin with silver embroidery (LC). Indian muslin shawl made to match A1306 (SB). ....possibly late 18th early 19th century. Origin India or Turkey or possibly England (OF).
Made up with old silver embroidery (made in the Odivellias Convent Portugal, said to be 200 years old), wide band at bottom of 2 and one quarter yards long. It is a beautiful specimum of Portuguese embroidery, where silk thread is embroidered through the muslin. Body of gown has silver embroidery to match. Material is Indian muslin with very fine drawn work.

Shawl, [Indian] muslin with silver embroidery (LC). Indian muslin shawl made to match A1306 (SB). ....possibly late 18th early 19th century. Origin India or Turkey or possibly England (OF).

Shawl, embroidered square of cream muslin with floral border worked in silver metal thread and pulled fabric embroidery filling for floral motifs. Made to match christening gown A1306 at a later date. Hand hemmed top and bottom, selvages at sides.
