Cups and saucers (2 sets), made for the export market, soft paste porcelain, made in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi, Quing dynasty, Qinlong reign, 1736-1795
Small Chinese tea cups, decorated in traditional blue and white design, not that dissimilar to "Willow pattern". Cups (1/1 and 2/1) are small straight sided cups, with curved bottom and straight foot, pattern on both depicts pagodas and blossom trees with water, boats and several figures, small relief pattern of berries and foliate where the handle attaches to the cup, the rim is finished with a yellowish brown glaze. The saucers (1/2 and 2/2) have deep sides with no lip or recess for the cup to sit in, both have similar design of pagodas, trees water boats and figures on the in side surface, outside is white, saucers have a straight foot and rim is finished with a yellowish brown glaze.
