The "Anniversary" vase was issued in 1996 to mark the 60th anniversary of the "Aalto" vase, originally designed in 1936. This limited edition is the same size (140 mm high) as the original and its size and colour are exclusive to 1996. Blown in its old moulds that are part of the collection.

A dusty brown hand-blown glass vase, the sides rising almost straight vertically from the base to the rim and formed into free meandering vertical folds. The rim and base are flat. Makers name engraved under base. Also original cardboard packaging.

On vase, designer details, inscribed under base, "ALVAR AALTO IITTALA 1976-1996". Manufacturers label, adhered to side below rim, adhesive label, clear plastic printed with a red circle in the centre of which is a white "i" and below the circle the words "iittala / finland". The box is printed with details of designer, manufacturer and product.
