Many of the designs were based on patterns commercially available. However factory artists (including the owner) were also responsible for creating individual designs based on these patterns and the use of coloured inks and coloured papers also added variety.

The artwork was created at the factory then sent out to commercial block makers to be produced. Wording was then cast on the Ludlow machine at the factory and borders added from the stock range.

These chemist labels were used throughout NSW. The Granville Printing Co was one of 4 such business which shared much of the work throughout eastern Australia including hospital dispensaries.
