Fibre image slicer, metal / glass / plastic, used at the Anglo-Australian Telescope, Australia, 1987.
(-1)Black metal plate with short red cylinder.
(-2)Long bundle of optical fibres in a metal casing. There are three small end cylinders: one to collect the light, another to form the slit for a spectrograph and the third to provide a picture of the slit.
(-3)Black cylinder attached to circular base.
(-4:7)Components of image slicer.
