The Stellar Interferometer was at Narrabri, NSW. It was used by the staff of the Chatterton Astronomy Department, School of Physics, University of Sydney. Work began with the interferometer in May 1965 and it was closed down in 1974.

Description
Mirror, glass/metal, part of Narrabri Stellar Interferometer, designed by Robert Hanbury Brown and Richard Twiss, Officine Galileo, Italy, 1960-1961
Hexagonal shaped, glass front-aluminised mirror with metal plate at rear attached by nine spring-loaded screws. An electric 'blanket' heating system is glued to the back. The canvas is marked 228R 267. This mirror was one of 252, forming a 6.7 metre diameter optical reflector. The Stellar Interferometer had two such optical reflectors.
