Description
Phaser card, electronic, metal/plastic, made for Molonglo Observatory Synthesis Telescope (MOST), by the School of Physics, University of Sydney, Australia, 1994-1995
Electronics board with surface mounted conductors on one side that is marked input 1, 2, 3, 4 and output 1,2 (with two -tone green and metallic finish). The other side, coloured green, has BNC sockets marked output 1,2 and input 1, 2, 3, 4. There are 88 such phasers on the telesope. They combine the 843 MHz signal from four low noise amplifiers with computer controlled phase and gain to steer the primary beam of each 50 wavelength bay of the telescope.
Marks
Marked on one side, right of centre, 'UNIVERSITY OF SYDNEY / ASTROPHYSICS / PHASER 3/93' and dated on left side, 'R.G.D. MARCH 1993'.
