Traditional dance ornaments of the Tiwi People, these items have been made the same traditional way for possibly thousands of years. This group of objects were made by three women, Juanita Tipiloura, Mary Margaret Orsto, and Marie Evelyn Pautjimi.

Head ring, feather & ochre, Juanita Tipiloura, Mary Margaret Orsto & Marie Evelyn Pautjimi, Tiwi People, Bathurst Island, Northern Territory, 1996-1997. Head ring, made from wovern/bound plant fibre, painted in alternating bands of white, black, red and tan ochres. Two feathers attached to tassels made from plaited bush string. Feathers a grey colour.
