Object statement
Engraving, framed, 'Engrav'd by W. Preston from a Drawing by Capt Wallis 46th Regt. Sydney from Bennelongs Point. New South Wales. London, Pub'd Septr 1, 1820, at R. Ackermann's, 101, Strand', paper/cardboard/wood/perspex, original sketches attributed to James Wallis, engraving by William Preston, Newcastle, New South Wales, published by Rudolph Ackermann, London, England, 1821
William Preston did the engraving for these plates in New South Wales. They were printed and published in London. The original sketches were attributed to James Wallis. There is some doubt as to the accuracy of this. Jonathon Wantrup suggests that Joseph Lycett may have drawn the original views.

The book from which this engraving was removed was published in London by Rudolph Ackermann in 1821.
